Help us ground this scheme
The Mayor of London wants to build an international airport on a man made island off the Kent and Essex coast in the Thames Estuary.

Medway Council, Kent County Council, and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) have started a campaign to get this £40billion scheme thrown out due to the massive impact it will have on our area and the environment.
In December 2003, we successfully fought off a similar scheme at Cliffe, on the Hoo Peninsula, thanks to overwhelming support from the public.
The best way to stop this new unnecessary and expensive proposal is to make your voice heard. Please leave a comment on the Mayor of London’s plans for a Thames Estuary airport and register for our petition against the proposals below.

Please do not build this stupid idea of an air port. It will cost billions of pounds for something we do not actually need. Flight company’s are having to reduce prices to get people to fly so why create more airports for even more of a struggle to persuade people to fly. You also have the wildlife that would be killed and the amazing history of grain lost forever. We will not be the only ones effected what about everyone in the surrounding areas that would have plains flying over head all day every day. Why not open another run way in the existing airports and allow them to expand when they want to instead of putting a whole new lot of people out of jobs and homes here.
